Born in Sligo on the beautiful West Coast of Ireland in 1952 Paul
moved to Chelmsford Essex when four years old. There he began a life long love
for the game of football. Living only 400 yards from the Chelmsford City FC
ground, if not kicking a football around, he could be found watching his local
team play Wimbledon, Weymouth or Merthyr.
For the past 40 years he has actively been involved in football as
a player, manager, coach and scout. A qualified UEFA B coach he has worked with
local clubs, schools and colleges, as well as at the La Manga Football Academy
in Spain.
Now living in Braintree Essex, he is married to Anne, a nurse.
They have a 22-year old daughter, Laura, in her final year at Bournemouth
University.
When not at work, his hobbies include playing tennis and squash or
retreating back to the tranquillity of Western Ireland or their holiday home in
Southern Spain.
Paul looks after the Umbro Youth Identification Programme,
utilising his excellent contacts throughout the UK at both senior and junior
levels.
